Points are positioned at the specific location of each bridge. Digital data is tested by visual comparison with source mapping 6.09 No quantitative tests Not applicable 0 Not applicable A database of all bridges listed in the Thruway's Inventory, Infrastructure, and Inspection System (IIIS), was extracted on April 24, 2001. These bridges were then joined to the June 2000 nybridg GIS coverage provided by NYSDOT, and additional bridges were added, as needed. Selected attributes were then taken from the IIIS database and joined to the features. In June 2002, the points were then manually adjusted to 1995 USGS orthoimagery and GPS derived Thruway and ramp alignments. There were significant changes in complicated ramps situations, such as on the I-190 in Buffalo and in the Westchester County area. In addition the I-84 bridges in the original coverage were not located on their individual directional routes but were coincident on an imaginary centerline. In December 2003 attributes for 2 bridges were switched to correct and error, and a new bridge was added in Rockland County. In February 2005, several bridges were added and removed, per recent construction. In May 2008, and error was corrected by swapping bridges 605.99 and 606.04. In October 2008, bridges 600.55 & 600.56 were corrected by swapping them.
